I'm Announcing

That's right I'm going to be an AUNT again! Now you can all breath. My sister just found out that she is pregnant and my brothers wife is having a boy. I am so excited for both of them and although kids are hard they are such a blessing to have. Everyday my kids make me laugh and cry and I wouldn't want things any other way. Congrats to them and I know they will be great parents!

I love paybacks!

This is not a picture of Kenzie, not Kaylee, yeah that's right it's Ashton. When he was little we left him in the care of his two very responsible uncles and this is what we came home too. Well, 10 years later it is time for paybacks. My brother in law rob's little boy had an accident last week at my house and what better time to play dress up I thought. Here is my cute nephew sporting one of Kaylee's pink shirts! I love paybacks! I love you Ryan!

When Dad's in Charge

Saturdays are my day to work and that means that Marty is in charge of the kids. Now usually I come home to a house that is half clean and kids that may or may not be dressed and all sorts of other surprises but nothing has baffled me more than what happened last Saturday. Marty decided to get the garden cleaned up (good choice), the yard cleaned up (also a good choice) and make the kids help (could've been a good choice). So they got up and he left getting Kenzie dressed up to Kaylee. Now normally Kaylee does an excellent job at picking out clothes for the day but I guess someone forgot to inform her that when you are going to get muddy putting on a BRAND NEW outfit just doesn't go. So my cute little Kaylee got Kenzie dressed in what she thought was a very styling outfit with her HARLEY DAVIDSON LEATHER boots and off they headed outside. Outside- where Kenzie had a blast crawling through the mud, smooshing tomatoes on herself, eating the dirt, carrots and other leftovers and who knows what else. So I come home to a bathed baby (another good choice) and instructions that her clothes are out on the porch for me to clean. So I walk outside and realize that her brand new outfit is COVERED in mud and tomatoes! Now who lets their 14 month old play in the mud and tomatoes in brand new clothes! Someone who doesn't do the wash, buy clothes or realize what a bad choice he is making. So I come inside, get the stain stick, go back outside, and proceed to clean the "mess" that was made. All the while thinking- why am I raising 4 kids instead of 3! So I get the clothes doused with stain remover, throw the white shirt out (bad choice on buying white- that was my bad) and come into the house to throw the stuff in the laundry. I then decide I better eat because things are always worse when you are hungry and proceed to tell Marty how dumb I think he is for letting this all happen. Do you know his response- "Well I didn't get her dressed". I was so mad. He on the other hand thought it was hilarious. (so much he snapped the picture of my face for me to blog) So I decide to give Kaylee a lesson on proper dressing for her sister and I am explaining that when we do dirty things to please put Kenzie in old clothes and old shoes. Her response-" mom, Kenzie's a year old, she doesn't OWN old things". You have to love her honesty! So that is my story about what happens when dad's in charge. Now that its been 5 days I can laugh but boy was I hot about that one!

7 things about myself. I'm pretty sure I have had this tag before but I will do it again-for fun.

(1) I have never had the chicken pox. I have been exposed numerous times to try and get it over with but no go. Any volunteers to come take care of me when I DO get them?

(2) I love to read and read at least two books at one time. I don't know how I can forget important dates but I can tell you what is going on while reading four different books! Go Figure.

(3) I was done having kids about 7 years ago. I even gave most of my stuff away but we had a late bloomer and are so grateful someone had other plans for us!

(4) I was adopted by my dad when I was 4. This was by far the best thing that could have ever happened in my life. I love my dad and am very grateful for all the love and support he always gives me.

(5) I LOVE the smell of fresh brewed coffee. Surprisingly I have always hated the taste but I could spend the day in a coffee shop just to smell the coffee.

(6) In high school I worked as a telemarketer and would change my name depending on which state we were calling. For example: I was always sunny when calling Florida or California, or Wendy when calling Wyoming!

(7) I always wanted to be a school teacher until I had Kaylee. My nurse was so nurturing and in charge at the same time- both things I needed and that is when I realized that I wanted to be a nurse.

My New Calling

Last week I was called to be the 1st counselor in the Young Women's Presidency. I am so excited about this calling. I was the Cub Committee Chair person before and the bishopric couldn't even tell me what this calling entailed so I don't think I did a very good job. I am so excited to finally have a place where I am going to "fit". In my other ward I was in the primary presidency for several years and absolutely loved going to church. I was serving with three of my closest friends not to mention all of my other friends were teachers! Not being active as a teenager I get very excited to participate in the many things I missed out on. I am even looking forward to YW camp!! Wish me luck and I hope to be able to magnify my calling and become closer to my Heavenly Father.

Kenzie Rae

Don't they say the more kids you have the less you take their picture? Maybe that doesn't apply to late bloomers because I think I take more pictures of Kenzie then I did of Ashton. Here is some random picture that have been stored on my camera and NEED to be posted.

My little ladybug

No caption needed!

Bottle, Elmo, Blankie-what more do you need!

Kenzie won't eat "real" food but she is definetly lovin the ice cream.

Kenzie thought this big pile of leaves was a bean bag. She just layed there and watched the cars for about 20 minutes. She threw the biggest fit when she finally had to "get up". I just love that kid.

Happy Day

On Saturday November 1st one of Kaylee's best friends Olivia Boer was baptized. We are always happy to attend a baptism. We didn't hear much of the talk because we were in the back row and as you can imagine for the day after Halloween, kids were loud! She looked so beautiful in her dress and due to so many people attending we were able to get a picture so you will have to take our word on it. Olivia and Kaylee met in Kindergarten and were on the same soccer team that year. They also went to our same church so they got to be good friends. Since we have moved we don't get to see our friends the Boer's as much but they are never far from our thoughts. Congratulations Olivia!

Halloween 2008

Halloween has always been a favorite holiday of mine. At the beginning of the week we went with some of the cousins to the pumpkin walk. I have always loved to take my kids to the pumpkin walk and it was so fun that we could go this year with family.
Then on Thursday the kids had a Halloween carnival at school. We took McKayla with us and we went with Tiffany and the girls. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it. They did a punch pass and I thought for sure we would be there an hour tops but 2 and a half hours later we finally made it home! Kaylee won a cake at the cake walk and McKayla won a box of ding dongs so they were very happy.
Kaylee and Mckayla in an intense game of bingo!
Thanks ma for coming and chasing kids with me!!
On Halloween I took Kenzie to the mall with some of the cousins for trick or treating. She didn't really think anything big about it but it was fun to get out. For the most part I think she just wanted a nap!

Then of course that night the girls and I headed to Ogden. Ashton stayed home with dad to hand out candy. We enjoyed a night of trick or treating with Kelly, Brandy, and all the kids. Of course we had a blast. We ended up at Kelly's church were they always have a Halloween carnival and the kids always have tons of fun.

Happy Birthday!

October is a crazy month for birthdays so I just want to wish a Happy Birthday to a few very special people.

On the 10th was our good friend Suzanne (no we didn't forget you). Marty and her have been best friends for a couple of centuries or something like that and we have always enjoyed hanging out with her and her husband and most recently her kids. Suzanne has always been there for Marty and I am so glad that he has always had someone as kind as her for a friend. We don't get to see them too much anymore due to us living up here in Logan and them in Clinton but we still think of them often. My best memories of hanging out with Suzanne was when Marty and I went over to her house in Deweyville EVERY Sunday. Never failed and they never got sick of us. Poor Karwin would have to choose between studying and hanging with us watching TV and I think we always won. Thanks for all you have done for my family and I. We miss you and hope you had a great birthday.

Next on the 15th it was my wonderful husbands birthday. I know most of you reading this are probably thinking you haven't heard wonderful and husband very much in the same sentence from me but I guess I am realizing that In Time- Love grows. I have always loved him but recently I have come to realize how much this guy really means to me. When we were dating I was drawn to Marty's sarcasm which is ironic that it is the one thing that bothers me the most but is also the one thing that has kept us going for 11 years (in Nov). I love Marty with all of my heart and appreciate all the little and big things he does for me. Happy Birthday and we love you.

On the 16th was my best friend Kelly's B-day. Where to start I don't even know. Kelly is the kind of friend that everyone wants but no one ever thinks they will find. I don't know how I got so lucky to have her but I will always be grateful for what she has brought into my life. She is the kind of person that never thinks about herself but is always thinking of everyone else. My favorite quality about Kelly is her ability to make a friend everywhere we go. One time we went to Fat Cats arcade and the games kept taking our money and we couldn't find anyone working so Kelly was upset and said she was going to find someone to talk to. Well ten minutes later I see her over talking to the manager who had ended up telling her about his week that had included his kids in the hospital or something like that. When she came back to me she was even more upset about his bad luck than about ours! I absolutely love that about her! Happy Birthday Kelly.

And today- the 20th is my cute little grandma's Birthday. She is such a fun and spunky lady and I am so glad that she is our matriarch. She is always up for something fun and exciting and she is like 75 or something (we don't ask anymore) My grandma hates to drive in traffic but you invite her to a demolition derby and she is all for it. She claps and hollers with the best of them. We are glad that she has moved back and although we don't see her too much she is never far from our thoughts. Happy Birthday. G-ma

Time goes by

I can't believe it has been that long since I posted. Here is a quick update.

Salt Lake was awesome. We went to the Reba-Kelly Clarkson concert and it was soooo good. They both sang each others songs so we got an awesome show. Barbara jean also made a surprise visit and did a comedy act so that was so neat as well. We stayed at the Shilo inn and just had a good time. We shopped and went to the movies and shopped and ate and shopped some more. I am so glad I took every ones advise and had a girls weekend. (guilt kicks my butt most of the time) but in doing these things I have come to realize how much better of a mom and wife I am.

These aren't the best but you can see Reba and Kelly singing their hearts out.

  • Kenzie is a walking, talking, screaming monster. She is still so fun but the one thing I requested when I got pregnant was no screamers and guess what I have- a screamer. She has got some temper (must be marty!) She will try to get a toy once and if that doesn't work the right way watch out. The other day her and my friends boy carter were playing and carter obviously did something wrong and she wreaked havoc on him. Pour dude just sat there and took it. Then she breaks my heart when she gets in trouble.

  • My beautiful sister in law tara just recently lost her mother. Please pray for her as this has been a hard time in her life.
  • We finally got rid of all the pups. Harley is so happy. I know she loves her babies but after so long she starts looking at us like "help-please". She is very happy to be back in the house. (she has issues with peeing so when she is nursing she can't be in my house!) The pups all went to good homes with kids that will love them.
  • School, work and life are all good right now. Hope this post finds you all good.

5 days to go!!!

If you are in a "Its the best thing in the world to be with home with my husband and my kids" mood, you might not want to read this post! That's right! Friday night I am off to Salt Lake with my two bestest friends to see Reba and Kelly in concert. Kelly and I thought it would be a good idea to go somewhere for our birthdays this year instead of just out to dinner. We also rented a room for the night so we can extend our girls night and do some shopping the next day. I just can't wait. I am so looking forward to my night without work, kids, homework, and loving hubby. He has told me about 5 times this last week that he just doesn't understand why I need to stay the night and do some shopping after the concert and I am hoping that he will understand when his wife comes home refreshed, after a good FULL nights sleep. I hate to tell him this but every mom needs a night or two out. I know I just went on a mini trip to Provo but hey we still had 3 fun, energetic 8 year old with us. Anyway I woke up this morning and realized that this was the week and had to share. Now I just need to make the rest of my week go by fast!

MMM Potatoes

The other day I was feeding Kenzie some potatoes and my phone rang (surprise). I needed to go look at something on the computer and I put the bowl on the table. When I got done and went and checked on Kenzie she had climbed the chair and helped herself to her potatoes. I guess she was really hungry. When I said "Kenzie Rae, what are you doing?" She put the bowl down and gave me a look that said "someone had to feed me" and went back to eating. It was just too funny not to post.

1. I am a procrastinator. I have very good intentions of getting things done but somehow they just never end up that way.

2. I more often than not don't finish projects. It took me about 4 months to paint 2 walls in my bedroom white. I am not kidding. I love when projects are finished I just always start things and never finish them. My sister's wedding clock- hopefully it will be done before Christmas- of next year!!!

3. I always think I am right. Ask my husband. I am never wrong and when I am I have a hard time admitting it. We will see a show and he will say we have seen this before and I am adamant that we haven't and tell him he is losing it and then something will happen and I think to myself Oh well I guess we have seen this before but he doesn't need to know that.

4. I cannot budget money for the life of me. Many people make comments about Marty having a second account with all the money in it and although many times I complain about not having it at my disposal, this account is there for a reason. More than once he has had to bail me out and given me money when he has already given me the money for the bills. I am working on it though and am very open to suggestions.

5. I am always rearranging furniture. I cannot stand to have my house furniture in the same spot for more than a couple of months. I think Marty's family thinks I am more crazy than they did before because my living room has been changed about 5 times in the year and a half that we have lived here.

6. I love to thrift shop. Garage sales, thrift stores, you name it and I am there. I love other peoples junk. Recently I discovered KSL and visit the site daily. I don't buy a whole lot but I can look for hours.

Will moving ever get easier

With school starting again I always get a little home sick for Ogden. I thought this year wouldn't be too bad but I find myself missing Ogden so much right now. Kaylee has mentioned things about living in Ogden lately too so I think I am rubbing off on her. I just want to take a minute and tell somethings we loved about living in Ogden:

-We threw some awesome Halloween parties. For the last couple of years I let the kids invite whoever they wanted to a Halloween party at our house. Of course I invited whoever I wanted as well. We loved having these parties and although people thought I was crazy for having 30+ kids running around we will always remember these memories.

- We loved hanging out with all of our friends after school. The thing I miss probably the most is that I don't hang out at Kelly's, Andrea's, Malinda's, Ruth's, Brandy's or my house anymore once again with about 30 kids!

- walking into church and still being with all of my friends. It never felt like church because we were all still together and still doing crazy stuff. Once Melinda put on a concert to Jem and the Hollogram's in Primary. It was awesome.

-Most of all I miss having my best friends just up the street. I can't count how many times they have all been there for me. No matter what was going on for them they never hesitated to watch my kids, help me out, or just stop by to visit. I didn't have my family around so these friends became my family.

I just want to take a moment and thank all of you for always being there for me with loving arms. I will never find another circle of friends like the ones I have found in you. I love you from the bottom of my heart and you will forever remain there.

What am I thinking!!

So as you all know I have been in school for way too long now and am taking my last class that I need to fulfill my generals for a nursing program. Now I took the last year off thinking it is so important for me to be home with the baby. So August came around and I was so excited to get back to the swing of things. I have been studying and studying and studying as much as my time in between work-kids-and house allow. Well I wrote down all of my stuff on a calendar, when everything is due and such. Somehow I wrote down the wrong date of my test and while I was planning on taking the test today, I had feeling to double check dates and found at 5:30 last night that yesterday was the day. Now the class is online so the test is open until the testing center closes but I am taking this class through Weber and had to make it there by 8pm. So needless to say I panicked, threw the kids in the car, called my life saver Brandy to babysit and drove about 80 mph down to Ogden. I did ok on the test. Can't complain cause anything is better than a 0 but oh my am I EVER going to get it together!

Elmo in Grouchland

Last week I had a killer headache lasting three days and not knowing what to do to entertain Kenzie I was flipping channels and discovered an Elmo movie on HBO. I turned it on and she just sat on the couch with me and watched it. I then discovered that we own the movie and we ended up watching it three times that day. I don't know what she loves so much about this movie but I can put it on and she sits mesmorized. We watch the show about three-four times a day depending. My favorite part is when Elmo goes through a tunnel and the look on her face is sooo concerned! She sits forward and just watches waiting to see if he'll make it! He always does and then she is calm again. I am so amazed at how animated kids are. It is so fun.

Here is Kenzie's reaction two different times while watching the drama unfold!

Kenzie's first birthday

Last Friday Kenzie turned 1. It was so weird for me to think of my day back a year. Here was the day:

I woke up and went to work that morning. The kids had an early day at school so I picked them up at 1 and headed out to my mom's in Newton. She had been in a horse accident the day before so I went out to take care of her. I spent a couple hours out there and around 6 was getting tired so I was getting ready to go. I went to the bathroom and swore I heard a pop. My first thought was "No way" and as I was waiting and nothing was leaking I got up and walked out of the bathroom. My step dad needed a ride to the store so we went out to the car and as I sat down fluid came from everywhere. I turned and said -very calmly- "My water just broke." He turned and said -just as calm- "well, change of plans." I just got up and walked into my mom's house and back into the bathroom. I was trying to stay calm but with Kaylee they broke my water and she was born within 20 minutes so I was struggling. My mom-bless her drugged up mind!- brought me down a pair of pants that I probably couldn't have fit my left leg in. She also was trying so hard to help with the kids and get us out the door. My cousin who lives a block away was our taxi and came to my rescue. Within 5 minutes of my water breaking we were in the car. I only had one small contraction on the way to the hospital. Bless my kids. They listened and did what they were told and little Kaylee even just hopped in the car and sat in my cousin's baby carseat without a word! I got a hold of Marty's dad who responded "Your water broke tonight-like as in just now, Well ok I will go find him" Marty was at church meetings and needed to be hunted down. So this was us walking into the hospital: I am in a wheelchair with my scrub top on and a pair of pants that are like 4 sizes too small, Marty is pushing me mock 20 in his suit, my sister in law tiffany is running to get doors and keeping track of everyone, my mom is following whoever with an icepack on her lip looking just as scared and confused as ever, my kids with their backpacks scared out of their minds, and my cousin who loving drops us off and thanks me for not having a baby in his car! What a site I am sure we were. Once we got to my room, I was reassured that I was only at a 3 and we had plenty of time. So after that we all took a breath. I sent the kids home with Grant and Linda, sent my mom home with my brother and his wife and sent Marty to change his clothes. Finally, my kelly girl, who drove through a rain storm with malfunctioning wiper blades, showed up and Marty returned from his wardrobe change. It remained calm for the most part. Kelly slept in a chair, Tiffany waited on me like I was a queen and Marty sat making his lovely comments like "um do you think we could hurry this up- I'm tired" Gotta love the husband! After a couple of doses of phentanol, and a few hours of waiting, Kenzie Rae was born weighing 5lbs. 6 oz. born at 1:30 am. She looked just like Marty's grandpa and had lots of dark hair. (well lots to us- the other two were bald!). Her labor was amazing and she is still amazing me everyday. I didn't think I could love another being like my other two kids but she is the light of my life. She is loved and spoiled rotten by everyone in this family and after 9 months of thinking I am way too old for another baby I find that she is what I needed to feel complete. I love her with all of my heart and hope that she feels how much we needed her in this family.

We love you Kenzie Rae.

Update on Us!

I guess I haven't realized how long it has been since I last posted. We have been super busy- which is good- but I am looking for some down time now. I will just run through some things that have happened with us.

I am now back to school since having Kenzie. I got my associates degree in December from Weber and have to retake my psychology class for a better grade and then hopefully get into a nursing program in the spring. Who knew it would take me this long to finish school. Shoulda tried before I had kids I guess. Everyone says it will be worth it so I guess I will keep plugging along.

Poor Ashton lost his best friend a week ago. He let Gizmo out to go to the bathroom and the dog ran into the road and got hit by a car. Ashton has had Gizmo since he was five years old and the dog has slept with him since then. He has always stayed in Ashton's room due to the fact he peed on the floor everywhere else. This has been really hard on Ashton but he is starting to come around again. Last night Mandy- Michelle's dog- which lives next door, died of old age. So as you can imagine we were shedding tears again throughout the night. It is so hard to loose pets but I have to keep reminding my kids that we have memories and that is better than anything.

We have done back to school night, birthday parties (My baby turned 1), dinner dates and much more. Like I said it have been busy time for us all. Tonight we have skate night at the school so that should be fun. I am working at the food booth so wish me luck. I hope this updates people a little on what has been going on with us.

Beauty Queen

I was getting Kenzie ready today and I always put lotion in her hair to help it slick better. This is what we got after that.

My little niece, Lyndsey started laughing and yelled "Whoa, Kenzie Rae's hair!" It was so funny. She then ran to my room to get my camera. (Her mom is a picture aholic) So I guess she wanted a picture. Which I would have probably taken anyway. I also put her in a dress that kelly bought her and thought I would share it with you all. For Two reasons- I love this dress. I think it is adorable. But best of all kelly bougth it from her store-Dollar Tree. I know a dress from the dollar store but thanks to my bargain shopping friend, Kenzie has quite a few outfits from there and yes they were only $1. She also has a heap of swimsuits also only $1. So if you are in the need for a great bargain- step into a dollar tree and see what you find. You might suprise yourself!!!

Post for Lisa and Dani

Harley our Chihuahua had her puppies the other night. I am so glad that she does all the work herself because I was exhausted and was quit annoyed when I saw that she had had one. I thought we would be up all night but she just did her thing while Marty and I watched a movie. She had three and we thought she was done so we went to bed and in the morning she had four so I guess we were wrong. She is such a good mama and takes good care of her babies. There are two males and two females and three of them are going to be long haired. We love when she has babies and its fun to get to play with them for a couple of weeks before we sell them. Hope you enjoy these pics you dog lovers.

1st Day of School

Yesterday was my kids' first day of school. They have talked me into letting them ride their bikes this year. Yes I know they are old enough I guess I just have a hard time letting go. So this is my sob story. On Wednesday my sister in law called to see if I could watch their baby and I told her yes just to bring her at 8:30 so I could take her with me to take the kids. The kids heard this and jumped on me saying we are riding our bikes and your not going with us. I asked them if they wanted me to take them to school for the first day and they asked me why and I said because its the first day and they informed me that they have gone to Wilson for two years and knew what they were doing. So against MY needs I let them ride their bikes and off they went. How sad is that! So I want to say- what am I chopped liver! I really am feeling like motherhood is a rip off right now. I mean I gave birth to them, changed them, fed them, potty trained them, woke up at night with them, helped them learn to ride the darn bike just to get them for 8 short years and off they go! What is up with that. I really hope that there is more to it than this and sometime they will still need me. I don't even care if it is for a ride or money- just to be needed would be nice. I now know why my mom had a breakdown before my wedding- Kids aren't supposed to grow up so fast!!!

All about Kenzie Rae

As Kelly has reminded me about every other day for the last month- my baby is turning one in about a week and a half. Were did the time go. I know we all ask ourselves that but I swear it goes faster with each kid. She is just so fun and I really can't get enough of her. Here are some pics of her doing some funny stuff.
She's wondering what we are doing at such a big slide.
This was her all day shopping.
On kevin's ranger. She didn't quite know what to think.
Kenzie and Kelly's dog daisy share everything- even food! Yuck!
Chillin on her horse.

She didn't like when the ride was moving so this is when it finally stopped.
Her own little table at kelly's.
And finally wearing shoes. It's about time!!

Shopping in Park City

Last Thursday, my cute best friend Kelly and I decided to take the kids to Park City shopping. So we loaded up the suburban and off we left. For all of you who know my I am NOT a morning person but I was up and left by 7 am. I called my sister on my way to Ogden and she called me back worried that something was wrong because I was up so early. Just to let you all know- I CAN get up early- I just choose not to most of the time! I wasn't so happy about shopping with the kids but with 10 year olds and 8 year olds they are very picky about what they want. It was fun for the most part and the kids did OK. We had to remind Kylee and Kaylee that we were in stores and not in a park but they tried to be calm. They were being so funny posing for pictures and trying to be mannequins. They are so goofy sometimes. I got out of there only spending around $100 which Marty reminded me that I could have saved on gas and spent about the same around here. I know he is right but shopping with my best friend comes before money anytime!
No pic of Hunter- He's not to big on pictures!! sorry Kel
