Lagoon

On Saturday we all went to Lagoon with Marty's family. It was fun for the kids to be able to ride all the rides with their cousins. It was nice for me to be able to ride with the kids also. My favorite ride is the spider. I don't know what I love about it but it is so fun. I didn't dare ride wicked because of the huge hill but I am sure if someone else would have wanted to wait in that long line I would have easily been talked into it. Around 10 (when Lagoon was supposed to close) I notice that colossus was still going. So I grabbed Kaylee, McKayla (Rob and Tara's oldest) and Linda (Marty's mom) and off we flew to ride. Well it just kept running, so the girls would get off and run and get back in line with Linda and I panting behind them. I think we rode that ride four times before they finally closed it down. It was so fun to see the girls be so excited. They would scream and Kaylee and I even got the front seat once. It was a fun day.

Yesterday was a fun day. I didn't do much throughout the day (my husband will vouch for that) but then we started the evening off by Ashton's baseball game. It was his first game of the season and he did good. He was disappointed because he got walked twice but when the pitcher isn't throwing strikes what can you do. After that we headed over to black hawk park for Kaylee's soccer game. She also did good. She is a little scared of the ball so we are advising her to not be goalie anymore but when she is forward she does pretty well. Then when that game got over we headed to Willow park to watch our aunt Tiff play softball. We only stayed for about 45 minutes because it was getting late and cold but it was good to see her also play. By the time we got home we were all worn out. I love being outside though. Maybe that is why I can't get much done around here because I just want good weather and to hang outside. I can't wait for summer.

Happy Mother's Day

I am bushed!! Kenzie finally asleep

Sunday my dad made us breakfast burrito's and then we relaxed. Everyone had left so it was just my dad, Debbie, my sister and I at the house. My plane didn't leave until 6 pm so we spent the day together. The weather was beautiful so we went for a walk and then we went shopping and then we headed to Rapid City so I could leave. My sister, trying to help and declining the help from the luggage guy, decided to wheel my bag to the door. I about died laughing because it kept turning over and she couldn't pick it up because it was too heavy and the luggage guy just waited until, defeated, she finally asked for help. Leave it to my sister to make me laugh. So we said goodbye and off we went to board the plane. The flight from rapid City to Denver was great. Kenzie slept the whole time and we had a seat all to ourselves. From Denver to Salt Lake was enough to make me rethink ever flying again. the wind was 40 mph and we had to DROP into the airport. At first I wasn't too nervous but then I started hearing people say " I have never felt this much turbulence before". So needless to say I was ECSTATIC when we landed. It was worth the flight though because Kenzie was wonderful. I just think I won't be flying for a little while anyway. We got home about 1 in the morning and Kenzie woke up, saw her dad, and was too excited to go back to sleep. We didn't get much rest that night but have finally caught up today.

Congrats to my baby sis

On Saturday we all got up early to notice that it was snowing like crazy. We had to be to the college by 9:30 so we got ready and headed out. It was so neat to see my baby sister graduate from college. She has done so many wonderful things and I am sure she will do many more. I think back to when we were kids and some of the stuff we did was so weird. Now that we are older and more "mature" I am so glad to have a sister. I don't know what life would be like without her. Soon she is getting married and will be living only a couple of hours from me. I am glad that we will see her more. We always have so many laughs when we are together. I am lucky to have her as a sister. Congrats Danielle! I am so proud of you and love you so much.

Cousin Ayden

Kenzie and Ayden
I have a nephew that turned three in December and he loves the kids. He lives in South Dakota so he is really close to my dad and debbie but he is really excited to see us when we come. He carries a picture of him and the kids and tells everyone these are my "cousins" He is so fun and Kenzie loved hanging out with him.

Welcome to South Dakota

On Thursday, Kenzie and I flew to South Dakota to see my baby sis graduate from college. This was the first time Kenzie has flow and only my second time so I was a little nervous. The flight wasn't very long but I had a lay over in Denver so that made total time about 4 hours. The flight from Salt Lake to Denver got delayed by an hour due to weather which wouldn't have been so bad, had they not already had us on the plane when they found that Denver airport was closed. We ended up staying on that cramped plane for an extra hour. I was very happy when we landed in Denver and I found out we would take a smaller plane to South Dakota and it was only half full. Kenzie and I enjoyed that much better. There to greet us was my always reliable dad. Kenzie was a little nervous when he picked her up but she soon found that his shaved head was fun to feel.

Party Time

On Sunday we celebrated Ashton and Wyatt's (his cousin) birthdays. My kids had gotten a big blow up slide play toy so we had all the cousin's and some friends over to play on it. The water was freezing but the kids must have not cared because they just kept playing. After words we had cake and ice cream. It was funny because Ashton's cake was white and orange frosting and Wyatt's cake was white and orange frosting. Ashton's was Shrek though and Wyatt's was dinosaurs but it was kinda funny. It was so nice to have our friends and family here. I love having my patio and a huge back yard. I know we will enjoy that this summer. Happy Birthday Ash!

Where did the time go?

I don't know where the time has gone but Ashton will be 10 years old on Thursday. It seems like not long ago he was just a 5 lb. 5 oz. newborn in my arms as content as can be. And now I am afraid we are seeing signs of puberty. He has always been so mild tempered and now you just say the wrong thing and it's like a whirl wind has gone off. Regardless he is still my mama's boy and I think he always will be.

Computer Nuts

Since we have gotten our computer the kids have been on it constantly. (When I am not on it that is) The other day Kaylee was holding Kenzie and she was just as memorized by the computer as the rest of us. Kaylee was checking out Hannah Montana and Kenzie was right along with her. They were so funny. I made the girls get off the computer and Kaylee started crying and Kenzie followed suit. I guess its the day of technology.
